Today we started learning about 2D shapes! We explored the different shapes we have... we also talked about the word 'attribute' and what it means to us. Look for shapes around the house and discuss their attributes!!
Our comprehension focus this week is sequencing. We chose to sequence the steps to create an origami swan! This was a little difficult, but nonetheless a great learning experience.
We have had Mr. Aaron with us from Iowa State. He did a lesson on time today, but the students were the clock. They had a lot of fun!
We learned about Pablo Picasso today. We were inspired by Pablo Picasso and created a collage of ourselves! They will be hanging outside our door later this week!!
The 1st graders have been learning about forms of art! We have taken pictures of different forms of art and made them into puzzles. Students then need to find their matching group. We then glued them to paper and talked about the different forms of art. We will be doing this a few more days this week.
We are working on our posters to advertise what it means to be healthy!! They are working so hard! They will be displayed around the school later this week!
Each table was given a baggy of different details (wear a helmet, look both ways, wear shoes...)
Students had to come up with the Main Topic, based on their details. We have been walking in the sky-walk everyday for 10 minutes. We have set a goal for all first graders to walk at least 10 minutes a day to support our well-being! Today we decided to take a selfie!
